PhilHealth pays P2B in claims to region 2 health facilities

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) – The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) has disbursed P2 billion to accredited private and government health facilities in Region 2, demonstrating its commitment to efficient service delivery and healthcare support.

Llewellyn R. Binasoy, PhilHealth regional vice president, reported that claims were processed with an impressive average turnaround time of 22 days, far ahead of the 60-day legal limit. The efficiency ensures that healthcare providers can continue to deliver uninterrupted services to PhilHealth members across the region.

“Of the claims we processed, two percent were returned for compliance due to discrepancies, while three percent were denied for non-compliance with policies,” Binasoy noted, highlighting PhilHealth’s strict adherence to standards.

PhilHealth launched the “Oplan Engage and Reconcile” initiative to address discrepancies and hospital queries. The agency successfully reconciled a hundred percent of claims-related queries from healthcare facilities through this program.

Binasoy shared that healthcare facilities now have full access to the status of their claims, and we’ve received positive feedback for this transparent process.

In recognition of its performance, PhilHealth Region 2 earned a 98.86 percent satisfaction rating in the May 2024 Client Awareness and Satisfaction Survey, conducted by NOVOTRENDS as part of the Government Commission for GOCCs’ requirements.

“PhilHealth remains committed to advancing the country’s Health Care Agenda, with a focus on providing the best customer service to both our members and accredited healthcare providers,” Binasoy said.

Additionally, PhilHealth Region 2 demonstrated strong compliance with Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) standards, achieving a 99.32 percent compliance rating for AREA 1, which includes Regions 1, 2, 3, and the Cordillera Administrative Region. (OTB/ADS/PIA Region 2)
