PhilHealth prods members to register for PhilHealth Konsulta

KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato (PIA) – The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) has urged members to register with the agency’s “Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama,” or Konsulta package, a comprehensive outpatient benefits program, for preventive healthcare.

During the 16th episode of “Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas,” PhilHealth Soccsksargen officials Hanah G. Naanep, public relations officer; Lorelie G. Bonilla, chief of the Field Operations Division; and Dr. Fatima A. Canieso, head, Benefits Administrative Section, emphasized the importance of early detection and management of health concerns.

“We encourage everyone to register in accredited Konsulta facilities, from our members to our dependents, and avail services. It’s for everybody; wala pong pili ang ating Konsulta (we don’t choose in Konsulta, it’s inclusive),” Naanep stated.

The Konsulta package offers a wide range of services, including free laboratory and diagnostic services such as CBC, urine analysis, lipid profile, pap smear, breast ultrasound, whole abdominal ultrasound, and mammogram.

PhilHealth members also have access to free consultations with primary care professionals, allowing them to discuss health concerns and receive personalized advice.

The package also covers 53 essential medications for managing chronic conditions like asthma, diabetes, and hypertension, ensuring that individuals can access the treatment they need to maintain their health.

Furthermore, PhilHealth has made the Konsulta package available nationwide, with 2,949 accredited providers across the country, including 135 in Region 12.

Region 12, or SOCCSKSARGEN, straddles the provinces of South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sarangani, and Sultan Kudarat, as well as the cities of General Santos, Koronadal, Tacurong, and Kidapawan.

Under the Konsulta program, members have the flexibility to choose between private and public hospitals, ensuring convenience and choice.

According to Naanep, PhilHealth has also increased the budget allocation for Konsulta beneficiaries from 500 to 1,700, demonstrating its commitment to providing comprehensive and affordable healthcare services. (SZTurnos/DED – PIA Region 12)
