CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA) — The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) reaffirmed its commitment to supporting people living with HIV (PLHIV) through its enhanced comprehensive outpatient HIV/AIDS treatment coverage.
This enhancement aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.’s directive to prioritize early diagnosis and treatment, along with ensuring ample testing sites and access to medications to address the rising HIV/AIDS cases in the country.
Through the enhanced Outpatient HIV Treatment (OHAT) Package, members are now provided a P58,500 in annual benefit, which includes antiretroviral therapy for all individuals with confirmed positive HIV test results confirmed by certified institutions, regardless of their clinical or immunologic status. This package also ensures access to all minimum essential services necessary for effective HIV management.
The enhanced OHAT package is accessible at any of the 234 PhilHealth-accredited, Department of Health (DOH)-designed HIV treatment facilities nationwide. It aims to encourage PLHIV members to seek proper treatment while also motivating other PhilHealth members to participate in regular testing.
