PhilHealth rolls out ‘Konsulta sa Masa Palengke Tour’

QUEZON CITY (PIA) – Market goers in Metro Manila can now avail free medical consultation and medicine as the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) rolls out its “Konsulta sa Masa Palengke Tour,” Thursday. 

The tour visited the Tangos Market in Navotas City, New Marulas Market in Valenzuela, Dagonoy Public Market in Sta. Ana, Manila, Mandaluyong Market 2, Poblacion Market in Caloocan, and Langaray People’s Market in Malabon City. Following this, the tour will move on to another market located in a different area of Metro Manila.

Free consultation under the tour includes primary care consultation and case management, preventive health services and individual health education. 

Medicines like anti-microbials such as amoxicillin, ciprofloxacin, amoxiclav can be obtained accompanied with a prescription. Anti-asthma, anti-histamine, oral rehydration salts, paracetamol, simvastatin for high cholesterol, aspirin, metoprolol, losartan, gliclazide and metformin are also available. 

During the market tour, residents can also apply for PhilHealth identification cards and have their Member Data Records (MDR) printed.

For those who wish to avail these services, residents must bring their valid identification card or birth certificate. 

The Palengke Tour will continue to visit different markets around the region as part of its efforts to make universal health care accessible and reduce out-of-pocket expenses for Filipinos. (JVD/PIA-NCR)
