MISAMIS ORIENTAL (PIA)–The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) organized a two-day stakeholders forum on August 16 and 17 to strengthen its implementation of the Konsultang Sulit at Tama (Konsulta) program.
The Area IV Konsulta Stakeholders Forum 2023, the Mindanao leg of the agency’s national event, will cascade updates on the Konsulta benefit packages to various PhilHealth regional offices and stakeholders.
The Konsulta benefit package is a transitory program formulated by PhilHealth that intends to provide all Filipinos the primary care programs such as consultation, laboratory, diagnostic services, and medicines.
“We gathered all people involved to urge them to fully implement the program because it does not only benefit Philhealth members but also all of our dependents. The program is meant for all Filipinos regardless of the membership status,” PhilHealth Project Management Team for Primary Care Senior Social Insurance Specialist Anna Liza de Leon said.
She explained that the program is not only for the government institution but is also for those private clinics that opted to be accredited with the said benefit package program.
With only 106 Konsulta providers in the region, De Leon urged other private clinics to avail of the program by visiting the local health insurance offices nearby and be assessed using the self-assessment tools provided.
As the Konsulta benefit package is being implemented and strengthened, PhilHealth strives to ensure the enrollment of all its members and their beneficiaries into the program. This initiative aims to protect all Filipinos in the event of hospitalization. (JAKA/PIA10)
