PhilHealth to hold ‘Konsulta-Run-Na’ in Kalibo, Boracay

KALIBO, Aklan (PIA) — The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) here is set to hold “Konsulta-Run-Na,” to intensify the campaign on the Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama (Konsulta) Program of the agency.

The “Konsulta Run Na” which is a 6-kilometer run, will be held on May 24, 2025 at 5:00 a.m., starting from Kalibo Pastrana Park to Barangay Andagao Covered Court, with a turning point at the entrance of Kalibo International Airport.

The same activity will also be conducted on May 31, on Boracay Island in Malay town.

The Boracay fun run will be a 2-kilometer run from Station 1 (Groto) to Station 2 (Hennan Regency).

“Everyone is invited to join the “Kosulta Run Na”. Just like PhilHealth, it is for all, for every Filipino,” PhilHealth-Aklan Social Insurance Officer III Aimy Joy Desaporado said during the PIA-Aklan’s radio program Kapihan sa RMN-Kalibo.

The registration fee is free of charge. Interested runners are encouraged to register online, through the link https://forms.gle/TJyZYwBoiQJHRB8t9  , or may go to the PhilHealth Office, or may opt to register during the start of the event.

Provision of the Race Bib is on a first-come, first-served basis only.  PhilHealth-Aklan prepared 2,000 race bibs to accommodate all participants and will be distributed before the start of the run.

“This upcoming event is one of the activities PhilHealth is doing to intensify the promotion of the Konsulta. We are aiming that Konsulta Package will be known to every Aklanon,” Desaporado said.

According to Desaporado, based on their assessment, only about 20 percent of the Aklanons know that what they are availing is already a Konsulta Package.

“It is indeed sad, but we are doing our best that the flagship program of PhilHealth will be introduced to every Aklanon, and one of these initiatives is the May 24 Konsulta-Run-Na, where different activities will be offered during the event that are, of course, anchored to Konsulta,” she added.

One of these is a Zumba dance, which will happen before (Pastrana Park) and after (Andagao Covered Court) the PhilHealth run.

At the Andagao Covered Court, a Konsulta Package and Universal Health Care orientation will be conducted for the member and non-member participants to make them understand and more about the program.

Registration for Konsulta, as well as the first patient-encounter will be part of the event for the participants to appreciate more the significance of registration and availability of the program.

The Dr. Rafael S. Tumbokon Memorial Hospital will also be bringing their mobile clinic where X-ray and some laboratory services will be offered during the event.

With the presence of doctors, nurses, and other frontliners, the participants may avail of consultations and inquiries during the May 24 event.

PhilHealth-Aklan will also bring their Registration Team to take the opportunity to encourage non-members to be registered members of PhilHealth.

Interested individuals are encouraged to bring with them an identification card or document to proceed to the registration, together with the filled-in form, which is also available during the event.

Konsulta Package, a flagship program of PhilHealth, is the expanded primary care benefit of the agency.

This covers individual-based health services including initial and follow-up primary care consultations, health screening and assessment, and access to selected diagnostic services and medicines. (AGP/SQP/PIA Aklan)
