PhilHeath 7 urges public to avail of ‘Konsulta’ program

CEBU CITY, Cebu (PIA) — The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) Region 7 urged the public to avail of its enhanced Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama (Konsulta) package from accredited Konsulta Packages Providers (KPP).

The Konsulta has been expanded to provide comprehensive primary healthcare to Filipinos to ease the financial burden of healthcare by providing free essential services.

During the recent Media Pasalamat and ‘PhilHealth Forward’ event here, PhilHealth-7 regional vice president Marjorie Cabrieto emphasized the importance of registering with the program to fully benefit from its comprehensive healthcare services.

“Dapat magparehistro kamo. Ikaw, iyong dependents mo, relatives and friends mo, everybody within your community, please disseminate the Konsulta program. Libre na konsultasyon, libre ang tambal, and libre ang laboratory,” she said.

(You have to register. You, your dependents, your relatives and friends, everybody within your community, please disseminate the Konsulta program. The consultation, medicines, and laboratory are free.)

One of the medical procedures to be incorporated in the Konsulta program is the mammogram due to the growing cases of breast cancer.

“It is very important that women, during the consultation period, may mga (there are) self breast examinations or even the physician will conduct breast examinations. Kung may medyo makapahan (If there are bumps), you will be guided, you will be endorsed to a facility or a physician who will perform the mammogram. So, bayaran na sya sang PhilHealth (PhilHealth will shoulder the costs),” Cabrieto said.

PhilHealth 7 public relations officer Dina Cinchez said that breast cancer treatment is also for free through the Z Benefit package of the Konsulta program.

“If you have friends or family members nga nanginhanglan ug (who need) treatment for breast cancer, kindly refer that either to Perpetual or to Vicente Sotto (hospital) to avail the Z Benefit. Previously, stage 3A was only covered. This time, even the 4th stage of breast cancer can be covered under Z Benefit,” she said.

Cinchez encouraged Android users to download their ‘PhilHealth ACR Search’ app for more information on the Konsulta coverage and rates for various illnesses and medical procedures.

“Dinha nato makita ang atoang coverage, ang rates sa kada (We can see there our coverage, the rates of every) illness or medical procedure that we need to undergo. Once downloaded on your phone, you can access it even if you are offline,” she said.

For iOS users, PhilHealth also offers an online solution.

By visiting the official website, www.philhealth.gov.ph, users can navigate to the “Online Services” section and select the “Search Case Rate” feature to check their expected benefits.
