MANILA, (PIA) — The Philippine Army’s medical support for its troops has been bolstered with the donation of seven x-ray machines intended for various Army hospitals across the country, during a turnover ceremony held on October 16, 2024, at the Army General Hospital in Taguig City.
The event was attended by Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) General Manager Melquiades A. Robles and Army Chief Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido, who emphasized the significance of the donation in enhancing the medical capabilities and diagnostic efficiency of military treatment facilities in Philippine Army Major Units (PaMUs).
“This donation will improve our ability to provide better medical services for soldiers, particularly in remote areas,” Lt. Gen. Galido said during the ceremony.
Galido then acknowledged the sacrifices made by soldiers and their families, underscoring the Army’s commitment to address their healthcare needs.
“Part of the Army’s thrust is to enhance our military treatment facilities and medical equipment, allowing us to better respond to the healthcare needs of the Army family,” he added.
The addition of these x-ray machines is expected to significantly improve diagnostic services within Army hospitals, ensuring that military personnel receive timely and effective medical care. (JCO/PIA-NCR)
