PhilSys registration reaches isolated village in Boac

BOAC, Marinduque (PIA) — The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-Marinduque reiterates its commitment to inclusivity, as it diligently works to facilitate registrations for the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) even in the most isolated barangay.

On June 10-12, the PSA Marinduque PhilSys Registration Team achieved a notable milestone by extending its services to Barangay Binunga, a secluded and remote community located in the interior part of the municipality of Boac, rendering a 100 percent coverage of all barangays.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to ensure that every Filipino, regardless of their location, has access to the national ID system, which aims to streamline government services and promote inclusive development. The three-day registration drive was specifically aimed to register children between the ages of 1 and 4 years old, a press release from PSA Marinduque said,

Aside from the registration services, the PhilSys Team facilitated the authentication of ePhilIDs/PhilIDs for the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries and carried out extensive information campaigns on the importance of PhilSys registration. These undertakings elucidated various functionalities of ePhilIDs and PhilIDs, emphasizing how these identification cards can streamline access to government services and facilitate everyday transactions.

During the three-day registration drive, the PhilSys team faced various challenges, such as difficult terrain and limited transportation options, however, overcame the trilas due to their commitment and perseverance for the successful completion of the mission, the PSA said.

As a result, the agency was able to successfully registered 124 individuals, including children aged 1 to 4 years old. Additionally, PhilSys personnel were able to authenticate 266 ePhilIDs of 4Ps beneficiaries and distributed 117 ePhilIDs.

Meanwhile, PSA Marinduque plans to continue this effort in other remote areas within the province gto ensure that every Filipino can benefit from the national ID system.
