MANILA, (PIA) — The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) was honored with a Special Award from the Governance Commission for Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GCG) for achieving a perfect score in the Stakeholder Relationship section of the Corporate Governance Scorecard for three consecutive years, from 2021 to 2023.
PHLPost Chairman Justice Stephen C. Cruz and Postmaster General Luis D. Carlos accepted the award during the GCG Awards Ceremony held on November 25 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).
“I congratulate all the men and women of PHLPost for their hard work, loyalty, and dedication to public service,” Chairman Cruz said during the ceremony.
The GCG Awards recognize Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCCs) that demonstrate outstanding performance and commitment to good governance.
PHLPost’s achievement highlights its consistent efforts to foster strong, transparent, and effective relationships with stakeholders, which are vital to advancing its modernization and digital transformation initiatives.
“We are grateful to the GCG for this recognition, as we remain committed to providing reliable and quality service to the Filipino people,” Postmaster General Carlos said.
The GCG is responsible for evaluating the performance of GOCCs to ensure their operations are transparent and responsive to public needs.
The Corporate Governance Scorecard (CGS), established under the GOCC Governance Act of 2011, serves as a tool to assess corporate governance practices within the sector.
It benchmarks these practices against the OECD Principles of Corporate Governance and the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard, recognizing the potential of GOCCs as significant contributors to economic development. (JCO/PIA-NCR)
