CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) – The Oriental Mindoro Provincial Health Office (PHO) in partnership with the Provincial Department Health Office (PDOHO) partook in the recent celebration of National Tuberculosis (TB) Day in Pinamalayan town.
Aside from the celebration of support, employees from PHO and PDOHO conducted a Health Education and Awareness Campaign against TB with the aim of providing additional knowledge to the participants regarding tuberculosis. It is expected that citizens who participated in the activity will join in the campaign to end tuberculosis in the province.
Apart from the educational campaign, a series of assessments were conducted in the TB DOTS Facility of Pinamalayan by the TB Coordinators from the aforementioned agencies. This is in preparation for their upcoming renewal of certification to operate.
Also present in the activity was Mayor Aristeo Baldos who is a known staunch supporter of health improvement in Pinamalayan.
The local chief executive will allocate funds for the procurement of medicines that will be provided to TB patients in the municipality.
Meanwhile, the PHO has pledged its support in the fight by providing adequate laboratory supplies that are needed in the fight against tuberculosis. (JJGS/PIA Mimaropa-OrMin)
