CALAMBA CITY (PIA) – The Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Calabarzon and Radyo Pilipinas Lucena have partnered to strengthen government information dissemination across the region through a collaborative multimedia program, Sulong Southern Tagalog.
Launched on February 7, the program serves as an interoperability platform aimed at enhancing public awareness of government programs and initiatives.
Sulong Southern Tagalog covers stories from the Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon) and MIMAROPA (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan) regions.
Airing every Friday at 9:00 AM, the program provides an in-depth look at the latest news and updates on key issues affecting Southern Luzon.
Ma. Cristina Arzadon, Regional Head of PIA Calabarzon, said that Sulong Southern Tagalog is the two state media agencies’ strategy for localizing the Presidential Communications Office’s (PCO) interoperability initiative, ensuring a unified and effective dissemination of government information.
“Sulong Southern Tagalog is our response to Secretary Cesar Chavez’s directive to improve collaboration among state media agencies. It serves as our strategy to localize the PCO’s interoperability initiative, providing a platform for news broadcasts and discussions on policies and programs relevant to Southern Tagalog,” Arzadon said.
The new multimedia program also reflects the strong commitment of PIA Calabarzon and Radyo Pilipinas Lucena to delivering timely, accurate, and relevant government information in the region, complementing their existing communication programs.
The 60-minute program is divided into two main segments: a comprehensive roundup of the latest government updates, policies, and community affairs across Southern Luzon, and an in-depth discussion with key government agencies to explain programs, clarify policies, and address public concerns.
Sulong Southern Tagalog airs live on the first and third Friday of each month at 9:00 AM via the official Facebook pages of PIA Calabarzon and Radyo Pilipinas Lucena. (PB/PIA4A)
