MAKATI CITY, (PIA) — Philippine Information Agency – National Capital Region (PIA-NCR) Regional Head, Emver P. Cortez, underscored the importance of networking and quick videos among the various ways of disseminating information.

During the two-day Assessment on the Impact of the Implementation of Programs and Projects of the Regional MSME Development Council (RSMEDC) held at the 1898 Hotel in Makati City, the PIA-NCR head updated council members on the various information, education, and communication (IEC) activities the regional office has provided and continuously provides in support to the council and to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the National Capital Region (NCR).

Cortez noted how the PIA-NCR promotes and amplifies the programs and projects of government agencies in support of MSMEs. He also highlighted the regional office’s network and linkages with other government agencies, local government units (LGUs), and other stakeholders.

Likewise, he pointed out how PIA-NCR banks on SMS alerts through the PIA Text blast facility, quick videos and photo essays, Podcast episodes, and TikTok videos in disseminating information and reaching out to greater audiences in the metropolis.

Among the key strategies of PIA-NCR Cortez noted is the need to put a face on various activities on the ground to capture the public’s attention.

Meanwhile, Cortez also encouraged other council members to be partners of PIA-NCR in creating and disseminating timely, accurate, and relevant information to stakeholders.

The PIA-NCR Regional Head was also joined by other agency members from the National Capital Region, like the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Tourism (DOT), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DOLE), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), among others.
