PIA, SM Supermalls collab in new ‘Kapihan’ forum

CALAMBA CITY, Laguna (PIA) – The Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Calabarzon Information Center has partnered with SM Supermalls to launch a new program that aims to further cascade down to communities in Laguna the programs and initiatives of the national government.

The program, dubbed as Kapihan sa PIA CALABARZON: Ugnayan at Talakayan sa Laguna, was launched March 20 at SM City Calamba.

SM City Calamba mall manager Evelyn Verzola recognized the vital role that Kapihan plays to disseminate timely and accurate information to a new local demographic – mallgoers.

“We gather as we take part, learn, and discuss key issues that are important not only to our community but to our nation, as a whole.”

She then enjoins participants and audiences of the forum to become even more engaged, especially when government agencies discuss their key programs.

“Kapihan sa PIA CALABARZON is an opportunity to foster collaboration, strengthen partnerships, and exchange valueable insights that can help us continue to serve our public effectively,” Verzola said.

Maiden guests of the Ugnayan at Talakayan sa Laguna include the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Laguna and the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office (LEDIPO) of the provincial government of Laguna.

Topics discussed include their significant accomplishments and initiatives for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), local job creation and generation, investor relations, strengthening of One Town One Product (OTOP), and the Likhang Laguna program.

The succeeding monthly episodes of the Ugnayan at Talakayan sa Laguna will be held in other SM malls in the province of Laguna. (CH/PIA-Laguna)
