MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA) — As the office of the Marawi Compensation Board (MCB officially opened the filing of claims to the Marawi siege victims, the Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur reminded the claimants to be truthful in their claims application.
“I encourage the claimants to be truthful in their declaration as appearing on their verified claims application forms. As Muslims, you have to remember that you are accountable not only under the law but before the Almighty,” said Lanao del Sur Vice-Governor Mohammad Khalid Raki-in Adiong.
Along with his reminder, he also informed the claimants that the Provincial Government through the Provincial Legal Office and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan in partnership with the Integrated Bar of the Philippines – Lanao del Sur Chapter, Public Attorney’s Office, College of Law, and the Bangsamoro Human Rights Commission have established a Legal Assistance Hub to help claimants with their documents that they need to present to the MCB.
The Legal Hub offers various services such as notarial services, legal consultations, and drafting of simple documents which the claimants need. It will be operational for six months.
“By this, we hope to address the needed assistance by the claimants by providing them with correct information regarding the application claims before the Marawi Compensation Board,” he further said.
Adiong also committed to the provincial government’s continuing support and services to Marawi siege victims through various programs and projects that will be helpful to their development. (JND/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
