PNP Chief Marbil vows 100-day focused preparations for safe, peaceful mid-term elections

QUEZON CITY  — With just 100 days before the mid-term elections, the Philippine National Police (PNP), under the extended leadership of Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, is ramping up its preparations to guarantee a secure, orderly, and peaceful electoral process. Acknowledging the significance of the upcoming polls, Gen. Marbil has placed election security at the forefront of the PNP’s agenda, ensuring that no threat will undermine the democratic process.

Determined to maintain stability across the country, Gen. Marbil has laid out a comprehensive 100-day security plan that prioritizes the deployment of personnel in election hotspots, the conduct of regular checkpoints, and intensified intelligence operations. He emphasized that while election security will take center stage, the PNP will not lose sight of its broader responsibilities in crime prevention, anti-drug operations, and counter-terrorism efforts.

“We are entering a critical period where vigilance and proactive policing are paramount. Our 100-day security plan is designed to ensure that every voting center is protected, every threat is addressed, and every citizen can cast their vote without fear. This mission is not separate from our ongoing efforts—it is an extension of our commitment to keeping the nation safe,” Gen. Marbil stated.

The plan includes heightened police visibility, strategic personnel deployment, and strengthened coordination with other law enforcement and intelligence agencies. The PNP will also focus on dismantling private armed groups, pursuing wanted persons, and intensifying operations against loose firearms. The top cop is also calling on the public to be actively involved in maintaining the integrity of the elections by reporting any suspicious activities or election-related violations through dedicated hotlines and social media channels.

Despite the heightened focus on election security, Gen. Marbil stressed that the PNP’s other responsibilities remain firmly on track. “Let me be clear: while we are fully committed to ensuring the success of the elections, the safety of our people remains our top priority. Our fight against crime, illegal drugs, and terrorism will continue with the same intensity and determination,” he affirmed.

As the nation counts down to Election Day, the PNP stands ready to uphold its duty with unwavering commitment, discipline, and integrity. Gen. Marbil urged political parties, candidates, and the public to work together in fostering an environment of peace, respect, and democracy, reminding everyone that the success of a secure and honest election is a shared responsibility among public officials, law enforcers, and citizens.
