CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — About 4,000 police personnel were deployed in strategic places in Central Luzon for All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
Police Regional Director Police Brigadier General Jose Hidalgo Jr. reaffirmed their commitment to achieve zero crime incidence for the upcoming observance.
“Personnel will provide comprehensive coverage of cemeteries and transport terminals round the clock, commencing from October 31 and continuing through the evening of November 2, 2023,” he detailed.
Hidalgo added that about 1,000 personnel have been positioned in Motorist Assistance Centers to serve as road safety marshals along major thoroughfares and secondary roads in the region.
“Stringent checkpoints, chokepoints, and border control operations are also underway along the main supply route leading to police camps, all with the sole purpose of ensuring that no untoward incidents occur,” he stated.
Around 3,000 other police personnel, on the other hand, are assigned to safeguard all police hubs and police assistance desks in cemeteries, major transport terminals, and areas of public congregation.
With this, Hidalgo urged the public to remain vigilant and alert.
They are not allowed to bring sharp objects, gambling equipment, alcoholic beverages, and loudspeakers in cemeteries and memorial parks.
He likewise asked for everyone’s cooperation in maintaining peace and order by immediately reporting lawless elements carrying out any nefarious activities.
