SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union (PIA) – The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) will administer the PNP Entrance and Promotional Examinations in La Union and Pangasinan on April 27, 2025.
The exams will take place at Saint Louis College in La Union and Pangasinan National High School.
According to NAPOLCOM regional information officer Fatima Alviarne, the nationwide exams are vital to the PNP’s merit-based system of recruitment and promotion.
“This examination promotes professionalism and career growth among our law enforcers. It plays a key role in ensuring that only the most qualified and capable individuals serve in the PNP,” Alviarne stated.
A total of 2,696 examinees—1,343 from La Union and 1,353 from Pangasinan—are expected to take the exam, showing a strong interest in public service.
The PNP Entrance Exam is open to Filipino citizens aged 21 to 30 with a bachelor’s degree. It measures knowledge in general topics, verbal and quantitative reasoning, and logical analysis.
On the other hand, the Promotional Exam is intended for current PNP personnel and covers police operations, ethics, governance, and law enforcement issues to assess their readiness for higher positions.
Security measures
Examinees must follow the dress code: civilians in plain white shirts, dark pants, and closed shoes; uniformed personnel in GOA Type C uniform.
Required items include the NOA, valid ID with birth date, No. 2 pencil, and blue or black pen—police and NBI clearances are not accepted.
Security will be strict—firearms, gadgets, and bags are prohibited. Violators, including uniformed personnel, will be disqualified and their exams will be nullified.
Stronger police force
Passing the exam strengthens the PNP by promoting ethical, competent, and merit-based selection in line with its core values of service, honor, and justice.
Exam results will be posted on NAPOLCOM’s official website within two to three months. Successful examinees will receive a Certificate of Eligibility by mail. Others will be sent a Report of Rating.
Certifications can also be requested from the regional office once results are released.
Alviarne encouraged examinees to value the opportunity.
“This is not just an exam—it’s an investment in the future of policing in the Philippines. The nation needs capable and principled public servants more than ever,” Alviarne explained.
The April 2025 NAPOLCOM exams represent a vital step in selecting ethical, skilled, and community-oriented police officers in Region 1 and beyond. (CCMT/KJCR/DJR, PIA La Union)
