QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — This holiday season, the Philippine National Police (PNP) is giving tips to sellers on how to prevent shoplifting.
Sellers must be watchful and spot suspicious behaviors like lingering or avoiding cameras. Always check and secure your merchandise. Sellers are advised to lock high-value items in supervised areas.
The PNP also advises sellers to install security measures in their store area. The use of CCTV, mirrors, and alarms are encouraged.

To help deter theft, sellers are advised to greet their customers. Authorities say that a simple ‘hello’ can prevent theft.
Likewise, sellers are encouraged to use anti-theft tags such as RFID or magnetic tags to protect the items.
Authorities also encouraged sellers to immediately report suspicious activities and to stay alert at all times.
To report a crime or emergency, call the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) hotline at 0999-901-8181 or 0915-888-8181. (JEG/PIA-NCR)
