PNP REPORTS GENERALLY PEACEFUL SITUATION NATIONWIDE FOLLOWING FPRRD’S DEPARTURE TO THE HAGUE

The Philippine National Police (PNP) reports that the overall peace and order situation across the country remains generally peaceful following the departure of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to The Hague, Netherlands. Duterte left the country aboard a chartered jet at approximately 11:03 PM last night to face charges of crimes against humanity related to his administration’s anti-illegal drug campaign, as per the International Criminal Court (ICC) warrant issued on March 7, 2025. Accompanying the former President was his former Executive Secretary, Atty. Salvador Medialdea.

The PNP raised its alert status to heightened alert nationwide effective 5:00 PM yesterday as part of its standard security measures. Police personnel have been deployed in key areas to support public safety efforts and ensure order. PNP units remain ready to assist as needed and respond to any developments.

PNP Chief Police General Rommel Francisco Marbil assured the public that security measures remain in place to maintain order. “The Philippine National Police continues to monitor the situation closely and is fully prepared to respond to any developments. Our personnel have been strategically deployed to ensure peace and security nationwide,” he stated.

As of today, the situation across the country remains under control. The PNP assures the public of its continued vigilance and commitment to maintaining peace and security nationwide. (PNP-PIO)
