PNP’s drive against illegal drugs scores in Ifugao

LAGAWE, Ifugao (PIA) — The relentless campaign  of the government against illegal drugs scored anew  with the arrest of four individuals and confiscation of alleged shabu and marijuana worth P3.3 million in a buy-bust in Lamut town recently.

The Ifugao Police Provincial Office (IPPO) disclosed that confiscated items from the four male individuals who are residents of Cabanatuan City , include two pieces of transparent heat-sealed plastic sachet suspected to be shabu, 17 pieces of dried leaves and fruiting tops of suspected marijuana bricks, 10 pieces elongated form of suspected dried marijuana leaves and fruiting tops.

With operatives from the Lamut Municipal Police Station as the lead unit, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Provincial Intelligence Unit; 1501st MC RMFB 15, 1st IPMFC, Kalinga PDEU, RIU-14 and PDEA Ifugao conducted the buy bust operation that resulted to the arrest of the four suspects.

IPPO Provincial Director Colonel Marvin Diplat said this is a stern warning  that the PNP  is serious in its anti-illegal drugs campaign and  continues  its unwavering efforts to eradicate all forms of crimes,  with the active participation of the community.

“This is particularly our campaign against illegal drug activities and will always be relentless in putting criminals behind bars for the safety of our community. Congratulations to our men for a job well done,” Diplat added.

The arrested drug suspects will be charged with violation of Republic Act  9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, as amended by RA 10640. (MBL-PIA CAR, Ifugao)
