ODIONGAN, Romblon (PIA) — The Santa Fe Municipal Police Station (MPS) urges motorists to ensure they have a valid license before driving any kind of vehicle.
This reminder came following the reported cases that over 1,000 motorists were fined during the first half of the year for various traffic violations, including driving without a license.
follows their report at the PIA Barangay Forum in Barangay Pandan on September 5, where they noted that over 1,000 motorists were fined during the first half of the year for various traffic violations, including driving without a license.
During the Barangay Forum of the Philippine Information Agency-Romblon held in Barangay Pandan on September 5, Santa Fe Municipal Police Station Deputy Chief of Police, Police Executive Master Sergeant Caper Gregorio said that there is a local ordinance in Santa Fe that imposes a fine of P300 for those caught driving without a license. The aim is to reduce road accidents involving unlicensed drivers.

While the police acknowledge that obtaining a license may be costly for some, the local government is working with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) to offer a free Theoretical Driving Course (TDC) for residents.
Gregorio said that motorists who complete the TDC and obtain a student permit will not be fined while they are in the process of securing their licenses from LTO office in Odiongan or San Agustin.
On the other hand, Gregorio also reported during the Barangay Forum that Santa Fe remains a drug-cleared municipality, with no recent anti-drug operations.
He assured the public that the town’s low crime rate reflects the effectiveness of strict law enforcement and the community’s cooperation in maintaining safety and order.
Gregorio added that they will continue to implement programs and activities to ensure the continued peace and security of the town. (PJF/PIA MIMAROPA-Romblon)
