TANDAG CITY (PIA) — In light of Pope Leo XIV’s installation, the Tandag Diocesan Social Communications Ministry (TaDSCoM) called on the faithful to embrace the new chapter in the Catholic Church with hope, faith, and renewed spiritual commitment.
In an interview aired over Radyo Pilipinas Tandag, Rev. Fr. Philipp Vincent Montenegro, director of TaDSCoM, shared a message underscoring the spiritual significance of this historic moment for Catholics around the world, especially for local communities in Surigao del Sur.
“Pope Leo XIV is a reminder for us that God has given us a new leader to guide us in our journey as a Church,” Fr. Montenegro said. “It is also a guarantee that with the presence of this leader in our midst, the Church continues the journey with us towards God, and that the Church shall always be there for us along the way.”
He described the Pope’s ascension as a sign of divine continuity and a beacon of new beginnings, reminding the faithful that each new leadership brings fresh grace and direction.
“It brings a message of hope, that there is always something new to look forward to, that we can always dream big,” Fr. Montenegro added, speaking to the enduring power of faith in overcoming challenges and pursuing greater purpose.
In the Diocese of Tandag and across the global Church, the faithful are encouraged to pray for Pope Leo XIV’s leadership and to open their hearts to his pastoral vision.
As the Church continues its mission of evangelization, service, and unity, the installation of a new Pope serves as a spiritual milestone, a moment to deepen faith, rekindle dreams, and recommit to the journey of walking with Christ. (NGPB, PIA Surigao del Sur)
