The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) features Paris 2024 Olympic medalists Carlos Yulo, Aira Villegas, and Nesthy Petecio in a commemorative stamp that honors the Filipinos’ excellence in sports, globally.
Philippine Sports Commission Comm. Walter Francis Torres and Comm. Olivia ‘Bong’ Coo emphasized that it transcends inspiration across generations as they attended the special stamp’s Unveiling and Launching Ceremony at the Lucky Chinatown Mall in Binondo, Manila.
This coincided with the Philippine National Philatelic Exhibition and the PHLPost’s 33rd Corporate Anniversary.

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — In celebration of the vibrant and diverse cultural heritage of the Philippines, the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) released a special set of stamps and souvenir sheets showcasing iconic Philippine Festivals.
Postmaster-General Luis D. Carlos said that PHLPost is pleased with the launching of iconic Philippine festivals: Singkaban, Panagbenga, Kadayawan, and Sinulog, and also honored to issue the Souvenir Sheet of Stamps of Filipino pride Carlos Yulo.
“These festivals are not only grand displays of tradition, art, and devotion; they are expressions of who we are as a people, joyful, resilient, creative, and deeply rooted in faith and heritage,” said Carlos.
The stamps were unveiled by Carlos together with Dr. Vinaya Prakash Singh, secretary-general of the Asia-Pacific Postal Union; Victorino Mapa Manalo, chairperson of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts; Norico M Mizoguchi, general manager of Lucky Chinatown Mall, Megaworld Lifestyle, and two- time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Edriel Yulo.
According to PHLPost, the colorful collection features dynamic illustrations from some of the country’s most beloved celebrations, including the Kadayawan Festival (Davao City), Panagbenga Festival (Baguio City), Singkaban Festival (Bulacan), and Sinulog Festival (Cebu City).
Each stamp captures these cultural events’ spirit, joy, and artistry through vivid imagery and traditional costumes, highlighting the regional pride and communal unity that these festivals bring. From floral parades to religious processions, the stamp series pays tribute to the unique ways Filipinos celebrate life, faith, and tradition.
The Singkaban Festival in Bulacan, celebrated with arches of bamboo and traditional artistry, honors the province’s deep-rooted love for culture and history, a celebration of art, talent, and patriotism.
The Panagbenga Festival in Baguio City, also known as the Flower Festival, blossoms with the beauty of nature and the creativity of the Cordilleran people. It is a tribute to Baguio’s recovery and the natural charm of the highlands.
Likewise, Kadayawan Festival in Davao City is a thanksgiving celebration that showcases the wealth of the region’s harvest and the rich cultural tapestry of its 11 indigenous tribes. It is a true symbol of unity in diversity.
The Sinulog Festival in Cebu City brings together spirituality and celebration. With the beat of drums and dance in honor of the Sto. Niño is a powerful expression of faith and Filipino devotion passed down through generations.
Meanwhile, PHLPost also paid tribute to Yulo’s discipline and excellence, which have brought immense pride to our nation. Carlos is an inspiration to every Filipino. “May you inspire more Filipino athletes to reach their dreams and not only reach their goals but also give pride to our country,” Postmaster Carlos said.
