CEBU CITY, Cebu (PIA)- The Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) Region 7 has rolled out its Computer-Based Licensure Examinations (CBLE) with the inauguration of its regular testing center on Feb. 10 in Cebu City.
This is the first time the PRC-7 has conducted the CBLE in the region.
The testing center targets medium-scale examinations for librarians, optometrists, naval architects, chemists, mining engineers, among others.
It can accommodate 282 examinees.
According to PRC-7 Commissioner Oversight, Atty. Erwin M. Enad, the modernized system represents a significant step in serving future professionals by providing a more efficient and enhanced process for various licensure examinations.
“The CLBE will save time, space, and resources relative to the preparation, administration, release, and assessment of the licensure examination,” said Enad.
He emphasized that the program will ensure that examinees have an enhanced test-taking experience and user-friendly interface.
The CBLE uses laptops installed with a program that functions automatically at the start of the examination and shuts down when it ends.
Enad guarantees that the program provides faster processing and releasing of results in not more than four days.
During examinations, Enad said the Philippine National Police (PNP) and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) are on standby, while the Visayan Electric Company (VECO) is advised that there should be no power interruptions during the scheduled examinations.
Should power interruptions occur, Enad assured that the building has a generator on standby.
PRC-7 Regional Director Narcival Z. Taquiqui also shared that the CBLE embraces digital transformation, refining and expanding the advancements and creating more responsive and technology-driven professional regulatory systems.
The examinations under CBLE are simultaneously done throughout the country. (ZCL/PIA7)
