PRC-9 commits to integrity and efficiency in licensure examinations

ZAMBOANGA CITY (PIA) – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Region 9 continues to uphold the integrity of professional licensure examinations in the Zamboanga Peninsula. The agency has been actively implementing innovative strategies, such as the Computer-Based Licensure Examination (CBLE), to enhance the efficiency and security of the licensure process.

During the recent Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas press conference, PRC-9 Regional Director Alfonso Viloria highlighted the agency’s recent achievements and future plans. As a key regulatory body, the PRC is responsible for administering and enforcing laws and policies governing various professions and occupations. By maintaining professional standards and ethics, the PRC plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality of services provided by licensed professionals.

Viloria shared that PRC-9 is fully prepared to incorporate technology to improve its services. These include the License Examination Regulation Information System (LERIS), an online portal that allows individuals to apply for licensure examinations, view exam results, and schedule appointments for various PRC services. He also mentioned the flagship program CBLE, which aims to improve the efficiency and security of the licensure examination process.

He expressed optimism about the potential of CBLE to further enhance the licensure examination process in Region 9, with plans to introduce CBLE in Pagadian City as early as next year.

As of this year, the national average passing percentage for various licensure examinations stands at 54.19%, with 192,764 passers out of 355,668 examinees. In Region 9, which serves as a venue for several licensure examinations, 42.87% of examinees, or 10,819 out of 25,237, passed.

To further improve its service delivery, PRC-9 is exploring the expansion of its field offices to Dipolog and Ipil. This strategic move aims to increase accessibility and convenience for clients in these areas. The agency also welcomes feedback from the public to continuously refine its services and meet the evolving needs of its constituents.

We aim to further improve the quality of services for our constituents in the region. Your feedback is crucial in helping us enhance our services and build a better PRC for a Bagong Pilipinas,” Viloria said.  (JPA/JFT/PIA Region 9 – Zamboanga City)
