BANGUED, Abra (PIA) — The Parole and Probation Administration and the Philippine Red Cross Abra Chapter recently signed a memorandum of agreement manifesting their commitment to support each other’s programs.
PPA Abra and its Volunteer Probation Assistants (VPAs) committed to serve as blood donors through a semi-annual mobile blood donation drive to support PRC’s call for an adequate blood supply in the province.
In the first-ever bloodletting activity hosted by the PPA Abra, more than 30 participants voluntarily joined although some were not allowed to proceed with the donation due to health concerns such as irregular blood pressure, low hemoglobin levels, among others.
A total of 19 blood units were collected during the activity.
“This is a way for us to engage our clientele, and remind them that this is one of their social responsibilities, as well as our way of assisting them in their reintegration to the society,” Senior Parole and Probation Officer Ruena Tangdol said.
She expressed gratitude to the VPAs in their continuous support to the activities and programs of the PPA.
PRC-Abra Chapter Administration Jennifer Bernal lauded this initiative that supports their campaign towards ensuring enough blood supply in the province.
“We need more partners to join us in this endeavor,” she said.
She committed PRC to provide assistance to the VPAs, PPA Abra and its clientele in cases they need blood supply in the future. (JDP/CAGT-PIA CAR, Abra)
