BAGUIO CITY (PIA) – The Professional Regulation Commission-Cordillera Administrative Region (PRC-CAR) ensures the convenience of professionals working as Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in renewing Professional Identification Card (PIC)through the electronic PIC.
PRC-CAR Regional Director Juanita Domogen said that OFWs can get their online appointment after payment and can view and print a copy of their e-PIC.
“Kahit na OFW sila at hindi sila makapunta sa Pilipinas to get the renewed ID, pwede naman po nilang maview ‘yung electronic Professional Identification Card nila sa kanilang online appointment,” Domogen explained during the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas on Tuesday (Dec. 10, 2024).
The e-PIC is a valid and sufficient proof of professional identity and standing of the various professionals regulated by PRC.
Professionals can take a screenshot, save, and print the copy of the e-PIC. The same shall be honored and accepted as a valid government-issued identification document, she said.
For claiming hard copies of Professional Identification Cards (PICs), OFWs can personally claim if they come back to the Philippines or send a representative.
If the representative is a professional, he should have an authorization letter and a valid professional identification card/e-PIC. If the representative is a non-professional, a Special Power of Attorney and any valid government-issued ID are needed to successfully claim the hard copy of the PIC.
Meanwhile, PRC-CAR shared that validation of a legit PIC is now easier with the security measures or unique features placed across the card.
“In fact, the frontliners would know. ‘Yung feature pa lang nung card alam na nila kung ano ‘yung hitsura nun, even the text, ma-a-identify mo ‘yung text. Even the license number, ma-a-identify na nila,” Domogen added.
