DAVAO CITY (PIA) – Aiming to provide a spacious and comfortable facility for its clients, the Professional Regulation Commission-XI (PRC-XI) will have its new regional office building located in Barangay Indangan, Davao City.
“In Indangan apat po ang proposed buildings natin but in the meantime we are erecting isa lang muna,” Arjen delos Santos, OIC Finance and Administrative Division, PRC-XI bared their office plans during the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas held on Tuesday (Dec. 10) at the PRC-XI Regional Office in Juna Subdivision, Matina, Davao City.
(In Indangan we have proposed four buildings but in the meantime we are erecting one building.)
Delos Santos said the budget for the construction of a building in the 6,000-square meter Indangan property is included in the soon to be enacted 2025 General Appropriations Act.
He bared that the present regional office in Juna Subdivision will be used as a testing center.
“We will be using this venue (Juna office) pero i-momodify naming po ito into a testing venue (We will modify it into a testing venue),” Delos Santos said.
“Kapag lumipat po tayo, maging armchairs and desk area ito for our examinees parang walang masasayang na pera ng gobyerno,” he added assuring that the building will not be a white elephant.
(If we move this will be an arm chairs and desk are for our examinees so no public money will be wasted.)
The ground-breaking of the new building in Indangan was held in 2023 and is planned to be completed by 2026.
Client transaction areas will be on two floors with each floor twice the size of the Juna venue.
“Once completed, the new regional office building will not only provide better public services, it will be a testament to our enduring commitment to promote the welfare and interest of professionals,” Delos Santos said.
Aside from the Indangan building, the PRC is opening a new Offsite Service Center, the Mati Service Center is set to open for full operations in January 2025. The Offsite Service Center in Digos City, Davao del Sur which, opened on January 11, 2023, now serves clients from Davao del Sur, Davao Occidental and even neighboring regions. (PIA/RGA)
