PGLDN welcomes National Women's and Fire Prevention Month

TUBOD, Lanao del Norte (PIA)--Employees of the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte (PGLDN) welcomed the first day of March as they celebrated the start of National Women's Month and Fire Prevention Month, March 1, 2022.

With the theme, "Sa Pag-iwas sa Sunog Hindi ka Nag-iisa," the celebration of Fire Prevention Month promotes safety consciousness among the people every day of the year. A preventive approach to a problem can be solved by more caution, vigilance, sobriety, the exercise of common sense, and respect for the law.

The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) also reminded everyone that fire prevention is a shared responsibility.

To bring color to the provincial capitol and also in celebration of Women's Month, PGLDN prepared a vibrant purple-colored decoration at the entrance of the building.

Dubbed "We make change work for women", Governor Imelda 'Anggig' Quibranza- Dimaporo wanted to highlight the gains achieved for women and girls, assess actions towards gender equality, and look forward to steps that must be taken to ensure progress in empowering women.

"We are still reeling from the COVID-19 pandemic, but these month-long celebrations are here to remind us to stay strong and continue to work together," she said. (PIO-LDN/PIA-10/Lanao del Norte)
