TAGOLOAN, Misamis Oriental (PIA)--The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-10 Misamis Oriental Provincial Field Office (MISOR PFO) paid out P3.5 million worth of salary to 975 Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced (TUPAD) workers, here, at Balay Nenotchka, May 5.

DOLE-10 MISOR PFO Chief Jose Errol A. Natividad said the P3,650 wage per beneficiary served as payment for the 10-day work on debris clearing, disinfection, and cleaning barangay public areas from March 16 to 29.

“The P3,650 wage I received today will help my children in their daily needs while I am still looking for a sustainable job,” said first-timer TUPAD beneficiary and 22- year-old mother of two Dulce C. Ganzan.

Another beneficiary and senior citizen, corn vendor Jaime Manuel added, “I am grateful for this TUPAD program. I will use my salary as additional capital for my small business.”

The Municipal Government of Tagoloan and Public Employment Service Office (PESO) staff were in full support during the said pay-out.

TUPAD provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed, and disadvantaged poor for a minimum period of 10 days, but not to exceed a maximum of 90 days, depending on the nature of work. (DOLE-MisOr PFO/PIA-10/Misamis Oriental)
