BUTUAN CITY -- To support the government’s effort in restoring cleanliness after the recently concluded national and local elections, the 15th Regional Community Defense Group (15RCDG) with the supervision of Colonel Diosdado E. Peji, group commander, directed its four Community Defense Centers (CDCs) to conduct series of clean-up drive in their respective areas of responsibility on May 13 and 14, 2022.
The personnel and Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) cadets under the 1501st Community Defense Center (CDC) removed/dismantled the campaign materials/paraphernalia postings from Barangay Tolosa to Barangay Syete, Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte.
Reservists of 1502 Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion and ROTC cadets from Saint Francis Xavier College (SFXC), Philippine Normal University (PNU), and Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) Bunawan Campus with the supervision of 1502nd Community Defense Center, also cleared the campaign ads in public places particularly in the municipalities of Esperanza, Prosperidad and San Francisco, Agusan del Sur.
Meanwhile, the personnel of 1503rd Community Defense Center together with the 1503rd Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion and ROTC Cadets from Surigao State College of Technology Claver Campus ROTC unit took down political ads, tarpaulin, and other campaign materials in the municipality of Claver, Surigao del Norte.
The ROTC cadets and Civic Welfare Training Services (CWTS) students of North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU) - Main Campus under the supervision of 1504th (Surigao del Sur) Community Defense Center and Office of the National Service Training Program (NSTP) Director, NEMSU conducted ‘Oplan Baklas’ of the banners, stickers and other paraphernalia posted in public and private properties in Surigao del Sur.
A total of 79 sacks of disposed campaign ads were collected.
According to Col. Peji, all recovered election paraphernalia and materials can be recycled by making bags and souvenirs, which could also be used as tokens.
The participation and involvement of the young ROTC cadets to these activities promote civic consciousness, and inculcated to them the ideals of patriotism, nationalism, volunteerism and respond to the needs of their respective communities. (Msg Tayan S. Datumangoda (WAC) PA, 15RCDG/PIA-Caraga)
