Carrascal, Surigao del Sur -- The month-long activity of geo referencing or geo-registration of rice production areas  successfully completed on March 12, 2023  in Carrascal, Surigao del Sur.

The registration harmonizes the data especially on areas devoted to rice and other crops in Carrascal town which is a type of coordinate transformation that binds a digital raster or vector database representing a geographic space to a spatial reference system, thus, locating the digital data in the real world.

In the context of agriculture, the team focused on conducting a geospatial survey of rice production areas of the  municipality.

The farmers were grateful for the initiative and they extended their gratitude to the team for their service in measuring their farm areas using the new method.. (NGPB/Carrascal FITS-Center/PIA-Surigao del Sur)
