TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) – With around 20,000 delegates from 400 private schools across the country participating in the Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) 2025 from April 3-11, 2025, the event is expected to boost tourism, local business revenue, and employment opportunities in Tuguegarao City.
City Mayor Maila Ting-Que said the thousands of guests staying in the city for up to 10 days will surely spend money on hotel accommodations, services, food, and souvenirs, which will provide business opportunities for service providers and local entrepreneurs.
The provincial government has also encouraged local government units to showcase more of their products and souvenirs during the PRISAA Trade Fair at SM City Tuguegarao, as delegates are expected to look for Cagayan’s food and souvenirs to bring back to their respective regions, Provincial Administrator Attorney Charo Mamba-Villaflor said.
Tourism Officer Jennifer Baquiran assured that there are enough products available to meet the needs of the delegates.
Tourism destinations in the city, as well as nearby towns, have also been prepared so delegates can explore and experience Cagayan’s wonders.
During the opening ceremony, the Pancit Batil Patung Festival was one of the highlights, showcasing this Tuguegarao icon and allowing delegates to experience the province’s famous pansit batil patung.
Meanwhile, Esther Susan Perez-Mari, President of the University of Cagayan Valley and this year’s National PRISAA President said everything is ready for the PRISAA and encouraged the public to show the warmth and hospitality of the Cagayanos.
The Incident Management Team assured their readiness, while the Tuguegarao City Police Station deployed enough PNP personnel to secure the city and the event’s billeting areas. (ALM/GVB/PIA-Cagayan)
