PRO-6 all set for Holy Week security coverage

ILOILO CITY (PIA) – The security coverage of the Police Regional Office (PRO) in Western Visayas for Holy Week 2025 is all set.

In a press release, PRO 6 Regional Public Information Office chief Police Colonel Arnel Solis noted that police personnel will be deployed in strategic and critical areas of convergence such as churches, ports, terminals, malls and  various tourist spots.

Likewise, police assistance desks will be established in these areas to ensure the safety and security of everyone, either local residents or tourists from areas outside the region.

“Our deployment is in coordination and collaboration with the local government units and other concerned government agencies. Moreover, supporting us are the Barangay Officials, Barangay Tanods and other force multipliers,” said PRO6 regional director Police Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky.

Aside from the Police Assistance Desks, there will be police personnel conducting foot and mobile patrols, checkpoints and other law enforcement operations.

“As we celebrate this Lenten Season, it is expected that the majority of the people will be travelling to different religious sites, visiting churches and other landmark areas. Some will be travelling to their hometowns and tourist destinations for rest and leisure,” the Western Visayas top cop added.

Wanky further recommended that the traveling public should acquaint themselves with and save the hotline numbers of the police and other government agencies in the areas they are visiting for immediate assistance when the need arises. (AAL/FRG/PIA6/with reports from Police Regional Office 6)
