PRO-6 awards top police shooters

ILOILO CITY (PIA) — Top police shooters in the recent Regional Director’s Cup of the Police Regional Office 6  were awarded last June 24 at Camp Martin Teofilo Delgado in Iloilo City.

The RD’s Cup is a four-day marksmanship training activity from June 13 to 16 aims to enhance the skills of police participants and forge camaraderie and build good rapport as they hone their marksmanship skills.

The marksmanship training has two categories, the Individual and Team Match.

Under the Individual Category, Police Lieutenant Colonel Louie Barrientos became the champion of the sub-category on Senior Police Commissioned Officer while Police Lieutenant Jessie Agana became the champion for the sub-category on Junior Police Commissioned Officer.

Police Master Sergeant Ryan Descalzota was named champion for the sub-category on Senior Police Non-Commissioned Officer and Police Corporal Oscar Sumergido, Jr. topped the sub-category on Junior Police Non-Commissioned Officer category.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Lindley Barrientos got the Special Award for the Police Commissioned Officer Lady Shooter and Police Staff Sergeant Erni Joy Dullete was awarded as the champion for the Special Award for Police Non-Commissioned Officer Lady Shooter category.

Police Corporal Oscar Sumergido, Jr. was also named as the overall champion regardless of rank and gender.

For the Team Match, Regional Headquarters Support unit 6 won the championship under the Regional Headquarters sub-category, Iloilo City Police Office was named as the champion for the sub-category on Police Provincial Offices (PPOs)/ City Police Offices (CPOs) and Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 (RMFB 6) while Iloilo City Mobile Force Company won the Provincial Mobile Force Companies/City Mobile Force Company and Companies of the RMFB 6 sub-category and the Regional Training Center got the championship under the sub-category on the Regional Support units.

In a press release, PRO-6 Director Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky, advised the participants to continuously perform the drill that they had learned from the training to improve their shooting aptitude, decision making and improve their discipline.

All awardees of the RD’s Cup received a plaque of recognition and the event was participated in by the different units and offices of the PRO-6 Regional Headquarters down to the Provincial/City Police Offices. (AAL/EJB/PIA6)
