Properties for bidding in Rizal remain flood-free — PDIC

CALAMBA CITY, Laguna (PIA) — The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) has assured the public and prospective buyers that properties under its management in Rizal province remain flood-free, despite the ongoing rainy season and recent reports of flooding in the area.

During the Philippine Information Agency’s radio program, PDIC Asset Management and Disposal Group CEO II Ricky De Guzman emphasized that the property for bidding in Macabud, Rodriguez, Rizal is located upland and is safe from flooding, making it a viable option for potential investors or developers, as it reduces the risk associated with flood-related damages and enhances the property’s suitability for various uses.

“This particular property, located in Makabod, Rodriguez, Rizal, is in an elevated location. So, I’m sure it doesn’t flood there. It was also recently inspected by one of our colleagues to make sure that it was not affected by the recent typhoon,” De Guzman said.

Rizal has been hit by the recent typhoon and the southwest monsoon that caused significant disruptions and damage in the province.

For the month of September, PDIC sets two public biddings, where 150 residential and agricultural properties will be up for bidding to present an opportunity for potential buyers and investors to acquire land for various purposes, whether for residential development or agricultural use.

De Guzman encouraged bidders to conduct physical visits to the site before participating in the bidding to assess the properties firsthand, evaluate their condition, and better understand the location’s advantages.

“We encourage you to find out the physical status of the property, go there, and also ask if it is really flood-free or prone to flooding. But just for this particular case, this 61 is a single location, and it was not flooded,” De Guzman stated.

The PDIC reiterated their commitment to maintaining flood-free properties while continuing to monitor weather conditions closely with local disaster risk reduction agencies.

Further details about the specific locations and bidding processes can be accessed thru the PDIC website. (AM/PIA-4A)
