CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA) – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) shared its active engagement with Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) during the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas, July 23.
PSA-10 officer-in-charge Janith C Aves said PSA is an active member of the BIMP-EAGA Statistics and Database Working Group (SDWG). Established on November 30, 2016, under the former Trade and Investment Facilitation Cluster (TIFC), the SDWG plays a crucial role in supporting and sustaining a comprehensive subregional database.
“We will be collecting data on the environment from the regions in Mindanao as well as the provinces of Palawan and MIMAROPA,” Aves disclosed.
She stressed that they will incorporate the information into the subregional database to support better planning and program development for the BIMP-EAGA region.
Accordingly, by tracking environmental trends, BIMP-EAGA member countries can work together to address shared challenges and ensure regional sustainable development across the region. (MGLY/PIA-10)
