PSA-10 innovates to boost PhilSys registration in Normin

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA) — The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-10 has rolled out several creative initiatives to ramp up registration for the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) in northern Mindanao.

One strategy is Caravan Colocation, which brings mobile registration centers to community events and gatherings like festivals and market days. The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and PSA-10 collaborate to register all DSWD program beneficiaries under PhilSys. This partnership integrates PhilSys authentication into Family Development Sessions (FDS).

For underserved and remote areas, PSA-10 utilizes mobile registration. PSA staff-equipped vehicles implement a sitio-by-sitio strategy, ensuring coverage of every village and settlement. PhilSys on Wheels, on the other hand, utilizes strategically located vehicles to bring PhilSys services directly to communities. PSA staff can swiftly move between locations, identifying and registering unregistered individuals.

Finally, PhilSys at Church sets up registration booths at local churches during weekends, leveraging these community gathering spaces to reach residents during their leisure time.

PSA-10 officer-in-charge Janith Aves reported, during the ninth episode of Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas on July 23, that PhilSys registration in the region has reached 87.6 percent.

Ang atong registration niabot nata sa 1.3 million for Bukidnon. 80,000 for Camiguin, 740,000 for Lanao del Norte, 531,000 for Misamis Occidental, and 1.6 million for Misamis Oriental,” she said.
