BANGUED, Abra(PIA) –The Philippine Statistics Authority in Abra conducted a training on Decentralized Copy Annotation Project(DeCAP) for about 40 local civil registrars and their staff from the different municipalities in the province.
PSA-Abra Chief Statistical Specialist Felixberto Perdido said the one-day DeCAP training served as a refresher course for the LCRs to eliminate errors and inconsistencies of civil registry documents in the municipal level. It also aimed to enhance the capabilities of the LCRs expediting the processing of documents in the local level.
“Naysuro kanyada ditoy dagiti guidelines ket daytoy ti agserbi nga refresher course para kadagiti LCRs tayo ken dagiti staff da tapnu nasaysayaat ken napaspas ti processing ti civil registry documents ti munisipyo,”[This serve as a refresher course for our LCRs and their staff. They were taught the guidelines for a better and faster processing of civil registry documents at the municipal level] Perdido said.
The training is part of the 33rd Civil Registry Month celebration. Other activities include information campaigns and quizbee.
Civil Registry Month is celebrated every pursuant to Proclamation No. 682 signed by then President Corazon C. Aquino on January 28, 1991.
This year’s theme, “CRVS: The Future of Seamless Services” highlights the importance of civil registry documents such as certificate of live birth, marriage certificate, death certificate, and other vital records in enabling Filipinos to access various services of the government.
