PSA brings PhilSys registration in the ‘puroks’ of Marinduque

BOAC, Marinduque (PIA) — The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Marinduque Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) is now bringing its registration services to the “puroks’ and “sitios” of the barangays in Marinduque.

Reaching the puroks and sitios, the smallest clusters in the barangays is PSA Marinduque’s strategy to ensure that everyone will be enrolled in the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys). PSA called this a purok-based registration drive.

The community-focused approach involves setting up registration centers within puroks, allowing individuals to enroll without needing long-distance travel.

By bringing the registration process closer to residents, the agency ensures that even residents in geographically isolated and remote areas can access the PhilSys services.

This decentralized approach significantly reduces the time, cost, and effort associated with traveling to central registration offices, making the process more convenient and encouraging higher participation.

The initiative has already covered multiple barangays, allowing more MarinduqueΓ±os to secure their National IDs.

With 206,032 registrants who have completed the Step 2 Registration and 160,919 ePhilIDs issued as of September 21, the ongoing registration drives are an important part of the agency’s goal to enroll 92 million Filipinos in the PhilSys program.

As the PhilSys initiative continues to expand its reach, it promises to significantly enhance the efficiency of public service delivery and foster a more inclusive society. Β (RAMJR/PIA MIMAROPA – Marinduque)
