PSA-Camiguin wraps up training for 2024 census data collection

MAMBAJAO, Camiguin (PIA) — To ensure precise mapping and location data for households, which is crucial for accurate census and monitoring, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-Camiguin concluded the comprehensive six-day training for the 2024 Census of Population (POPCEN) and Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Household Data Collection and Geotagging from June 10–15 at Villa Paraiso Resort and Apartelle, Poblacion Mambajao.
The training covered the Household Profile Questionnaire using various modes of data collection, geotagging procedures, ethical standards, and other relevant topics from the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS.
“The 2024 POPCENN-CBMS aims to update the population count and list of beneficiaries of government social protection programs geared toward poverty alleviation and economic development,” said PSA-Camiguin Chief Statistical Specialist Francisco Galagar, Jr.
The hired census area supervisor (CAS), provincial statistical office clerk, and accounting clerk, together with PSA regular personnel and representatives from the Department of Information and Communication, participated in the training to gain the necessary skills and knowledge for general enumeration and geotagging procedures.
This will enhance the participants’ ability to oversee the operation. A mock interview at the end of the training summarized what they learned from the six-day session.
Galagar led his team, ensuring that all hired personnel are fully prepared to conduct the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS household data collection with the highest standards of accuracy and efficiency. The target data collection for the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS will take place in July–September. (PSA Camiguin/PIA-10/Camiguin)
