BAGUIO CITY (PIA) — The Philippine Statistics Authority-Cordillera (PSA-CAR) recognized exemplary respondents of the 2022 Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (ASPBI) and the 2024 Quarterly Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (QSPBI), for their cooperation in providing accurate data for decision making and economic growth.
“Your participation is vital not only in enhancing the quality and reliability of our statistical outputs but also in ensuring that these data guide and inform decision-making in both the government and private sectors,” PSA-CAR Regional Director Villafe P. Alibuyog told the exemplary contributors composed of 22 establishments including cooperatives, banks and academe(private) in the region.
The recognition took place during the Regional Data Dissemination Forum, which shared the results of the 2022 ASPBI and the 2024 QSPBI, held at Golden Pine Hotel in Baguio City on November 26, 2024.
This was aimed to deepen respondents’ appreciation of how the data collected from these surveys contribute to the formulation of socio-economic plans and policies.
Attended by representatives from the business and private sectors, government agencies, media, and other stakeholders in the region, the forum presented the latest survey results to raise awareness about the importance of these services, and encourage greater participation from stakeholders.
“This forum is a significant opportunity for us to come together and address critical issues in the field of economic data collection,” Alibuyog remarked.
The ASPBI is a crucial tool for generating essential statistics that shape the country’s economic planning and analysis. It provides valuable information on the structure, performance, and trends of economic activities in the formal sector.
Meanwhile, the QSPBI delivers critical quarterly data that helps track the economic pulse of the region. This survey is a vital input for the quarterly national accounts of the Philippines, which are closely monitored by stakeholders to assess the country’s economic performance.
The event included an open forum, where participants were encouraged to ask questions about the survey results and their implications for the economy.
“We hope that today’s discussion will deepen your appreciation of how the data collected from these surveys contribute to the formulation of socio-economic plans and policies. By using these statistics effectively, we can create a more prosperous and inclusive future for our region and the country as a whole,” Alibuyog said. (JDP/FBR-PIA CAR)
