CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga (PIA) – -The Kalinga Provincial Statistical Office successfully registered 149,583 Filipinos in Kalinga to the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) as of December 31, 2022.
Chief Statistical Specialist Maribel M. Dalayday said PSA-Kalinga said Tabuk City has the greatest number of registrants with 72,085, followed by Pinukpuk with 24,591 and Rizal with 16,602. For the other towns, Balbalan with 9,425, Tinglayan-8,619, Lubuagan-6,758, Pasil-6,635 and Tanudan-5,408.
PhilSys ID in various formats, whether physical PhilIDs or ePhilIDs, shall be honored and accepted as the official government-issued identification document of a person for his or her transaction in all national government agencies, local government units, government-owned and controlled corporations, government financial institutions and private sector, subject to authentication.
Any person or entity, without just and sufficient cause, proved to have refused to accept, acknowledge, and/or recognize the ePhilID/PhilID as the official identification of the possessor shall be penalized in accordance with Section 19 of Republic Act No. 11055 or the Philippine Identification System Act.
A registered person can immediately utilize the benefits of PhilSys such as faster and seamless transactions in accessing financial and social protection services requiring proof of identity. (JDP/PAB-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
