VIRAC, Catanduanes (PIA) – The office here of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) will lead the celebration of 33rd Civil Registration Month (CRM) in the province this February with the theme “PSA @ 10: Providing Efficient and Effective Civil Registration and Vital Statistics through Digital Transformation.”
The activity is pursuant to Proclamation No. 682 “Declaring the Month of February of every year as Civil Registration Month” declared by Former President Corazon C. Aquino on January 28, 1991.
According to Chief Statistical Specialist Anavi F. Camacho, the activity aims to remind the citizenry on their duty to register acts and events concerning the status of persons, enhance nationwide awareness and appreciation of the legal, administrative and statistical values of civil registry documents and underscore the necessity for Congress to provide adequate funds for enforcement and administration of laws on civil registration.
In line with this, PSA Catanduanes PSO will conduct the following activities related to the celebration: February 01, 2023 – motorcade from PSA Catanduanes to San Andres, Thanksgiving Mass at Belmonte Chapel San Andres, Catanduanes, Feeding and Information Dissemination at Relocation Area Mini Plaza, Belmonte, San Andres, Catanduanes, 3rd National CRVS Quiz Bee Provincial Eliminations and Zumba.
Other activities in line with the celebration are: display of tarpaulin in front of the office premise; display of bulletin board with updated Infographics on Vital Statistics for 2022; conduct of Radio Program and Civil Registration Month Booth at respective LGU’s with prizes at stake. Likewise, municipal registrars are also encouraged to conduct activities in relation to the celebration of 33rd Civil Registration Month. (PIA5/Catanduanes)
