CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) — Oriental Mindoro has an 86.22 percent turnout for the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) registration for all ages, said the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
Out of the 908,339 total population in the province, a total of 783,142 individuals were registered in PhilSys, said Officer-in-Charge Charlyn R. Cantos in a press conference recently.
Cantos added that there are 18,912 children aged 0 to 4 years old registered in PhilSys, equating to 31.86 percent of the 59,361 total population of children aged 0 to 4 years old.
PSA started registering children ages 0-11 months old on November 15, 2024.
To strengthen its campaign in registering children in the province through PhilSys, PSA has conducted three Rehistro Bulilit Campaign during the month of December 2024 in the municipalities of Socorro, Roxas, and Mansalay.
As of January 8, 2025, there were 663,069 National IDs issued to the registered Mindoreños, equating to 84.67 percent of the total National ID registrations in the province.
Cantos also shared the current status of the total authenticated Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries of the program.
“Nagsimula muli ang mga serbisyo ng authentication at pagpaparehistro para sa mga benepisyaryo ng 4Ps noong ika-9 ng Nobyembre 2024 sa bayan ng Victoria, Socorro, Gloria, Bongabong, at lungsod ng Calapan, at patuloy na isasagawa ito sa lahat ng bayan sa lalawigan. Umabot na sa 46,343 benepisyaryo ng 4Ps ang matagumpay nai-verify ng Department of Social Welfare and Development, at 13,418 mula sa kanila ang nakapagrehistro sa National ID System,” pahayag ni Cantos.The issuance of National IDs falls under the Republic Act No. 11055, signed by former President Rodrigo R. Duterte on August 6, 2018, which aims to establish a single national identification system to provide a valid proof of identity for all Filipino citizens and resident aliens and to eliminate the need to present other forms of identification when transacting with government and private sector.
