PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan — A total of 34,294 children aged 1 to 4 years old in the MIMAROPA region were registered to the National Identification (ID) system.
Regional Director Leni Rioflorido of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-MIMAROPA reported during the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas on July 23 that they have already started the registration of children.
She said that this number was included in 2.6 million national registrants in MIMAROPA as of July 17, 2024.

The PSA officially opened the registration of ages 1 to 4 years old last March 2024 as part of the continued efforts of the said agency to register more Filipinos to PhilSys, including minors.
For registration of children ages 1 to 4 years old, a parent or guardian must be present and already PhilSys-registered. The PhilSys Number (PSN) or permanent identification number of the child that will be generated will be linked to the accompanying parent or guardian.
PSA assured that all registration centers remain open to walk-in registrations. At the same time, mobile registration activities are also being conducted for those residing in isolated areas or who have no means to visit any registration centers.
The agency also implements different strategies to ensure the registration of all Mimaropans.
(OCJ/PIA-MIMAROPA, Palawan)
