“The Philippine Statistics Quiz aims to assess the competency and skills of the students on statistics which are acquired from secondary education curriculum; and to promote, enhance, and instill awareness and appreciation on the importance and value of statistics among the students,” PSA-Abra Chief Statistical Specialist Felixberto Perdido stressed.

He added that the PSQ is also an avenue to increase public awareness and appreciation of statistics as an important part of development planning activities and to win public support for the government’s statistical activities.

The provincial elimination consisted of easy, medium, and hard rounds with ten questions each that tested the knowledge of the students on statistics. A clincher round was also held for the third place between Daya and Guirren of UA-Lagangilang.

The PSQ is part of the celebration of the 2024 National Statistics Month “Advancing Data and Statistics Through Digital Transformation: A Road to an Empowered Nation.” (JJPM, PIA-CAR, Abra)
