CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) — The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Oriental Mindoro Provincial Statistical Office is set to conduct the May 2023 Labor Force Survey (LFS) starting May 8 to 27, 2023 in the province.
Provincial Chief Statistical Specialist Efren C. Armonia said the survey is in accordance with the PSA Board Resolution No. 8, series of 2020, which grants the “Approval of the Conduct of the Monthly LFS and Generation of Monthly Labor and Employment Statistics.”
He said the monthly LFS is a nationwide survey being conducted by the PSA to gather data on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population.
The results of the survey will provide high-frequency statistical information on the nation’s labor market and a better understanding of the current situation of employment and the economy of the Philippines.
Two Statistical Researchers (SRs) will be involved in the conduct of the said survey. They will use tablets as a medium of data collection, in adherence to the Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) approach of PSA.
Armonia said the survey has a nationwide total sample of 10,692 households to ensure reliable estimates of the labor and employment indicators.
In Oriental Mindoro, there are 97 sample households to be interviewed which are located in Naujan, Socorro, Bongabong, and Mansalay towns.
Moreover, Armonia said they encourage the public, especially the sample households, to actively participate in the various censuses and surveys conducted by the PSA.
He also assured that all collected personal information will be processed in accordance with the law and other issuances. (LTC/PIA Oriental Mindoro)
