QUEZON CITY (PIA) — The Philippine Statistics Authority – National Capital Region (PSA-NCR) will shed light on issues surrounding the National ID system, Census of Population, and Community-Based Monitoring System, among others on Tuesday, July 23, in the 9th Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas media forum.
In its 9th week, the PSA-NCR will take center stage in the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas to discuss the agency’s priority programs aimed at poverty alleviation and economic development.
PSA-NCR Regional Director Paciano Dizon will lead the media forum, together with Statistical Operations and Coordination Division Officer-In-Charge Jing Rocabo, Chief Statistical Specialist Amelia Basilio, and other officials of the agency.
During the forum, PSA will elaborate the importance of data collection through CBMS that is focused on the local level, targeting individuals and households.
This came after President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered the PSA and other government agencies to quickly carry out a census using CBMS. The census will help make the government’s efforts to fight poverty and provide social support more effective. Its main objective is to update the list of beneficiaries for the 4Ps program, known as Listahanan.
Additionally, PSA-NCR will also tackle their measures in addressing the delay in the delivery of the National IDs.
The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is the primary statistical arm of the government. It is responsible for the conduct and content of all national censuses and surveys, sectoral statistics, community-based statistics, consolidation of selected administrative recording systems, and compilation of national accounts.
The weekly Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas media forum is a project of the Presidential Communications Office and the Philippine Information Agency-National Capital Region. (JVD/PIA-NCR)
